The floor plans were inspired by trails from a neighboring park in Columbus, Scioto Audobon Metro Park
The main entrance leads to the reception desk that guides users to enter the “nurture trail” to the therapy rooms, “learning trail” to the library, or the “play trail” to the play area
Grounding the space are abstracted columns holding tree house-like-structures. Columns act as unconventional play items to spark children's imagination reminiscent of trees in a forest
The second floor holds the workshop rooms where children and their parents build their relationship through art, learning, and play
The section cut shows the dynamic relationship between the two floors with the tree-house-like structures
Brooke Koch is a 2024 graduate of The Ohio State University obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with a research distinction. She is passionate about sustainable and human-centered design to create meaningful spaces for people and the environment. During her time at Ohio State, Brooke has been an IIDA member, has held several interior design internships, and was a student research assistant. She values the importance of data-driven design and co-design to create functional and inspiring interiors.
